Smithers Quality Assessments Joins Smithers Rapra at Upcoming Conferences
Representatives from Smithers Quality Assessments will join another Smithers business group, Smithers Rapra, at two major upcoming industry conferences.
Smithers Rapra is a global leader in rubber, plastics, polymer and composites testing and consulting services focused mainly on the tire, industrial, transportation, consumer and medical industries. It is one of the five business groups under the Smithers name.
From October 11 to 13, we will be at the Rubber Expo & Advanced Materials in Health Care at the Cleveland, OH I-X Center. Smithers Quality Assessments representatives will be at the Smithers Rapra booth answering questions about business management systems and quality issues.
Two people from our Smithers Rapra business group are featured speakers at this expo:
- Bruce Lambillotte (and Jim Fogarty), Recent Trends in Silica Usage in Passenger Tire Treads (October 12 at 1:30pm in Meeting Room 15): The results of quantitative analytical studies of silica content in passenger and light truck tires over the past five years will be reviewed.
- Sukhy Toot, Analysis of Elastomers for Medical Applications (October 12, 2011 at 4 pm in Meeting Room 13): Elastomers are used widely in the medical, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Material advances over the years have resulted in "cleaner" elastomers for such applications. These changes have been driven by regulatory requirements for the use of materials which will not harm the end user/patient, and which are compatible with the biological environment in which a medical device may be used.
We also will be at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists 2011 AAPS Annual Meeting & Exposition from October 23 to 27.
The AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition features sessions focused on bioequivalence, Biopharmaceutics Classification System, combination products, modified release, nanotechnology, Quality by Design and systems analysis.
As a featured presentation, the Smithers Rapra session will help Pharma and Biopharma navigate the complex path of successful regulatory submissions to the FDA and EMEA. It will provide an introduction to extractables and leachables requirements, the latest developments and best practice in generating test results and supporting data.
Smithers Quality Assessments, as an auditing and certification body, helps organizations streamline the FDA audit process. Our representatives will be on hand to answer any questions.
